Minnesota Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice (MNRCRC)
The Minnesota Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice (MNRCRC) is an affiliate of the National Religious Coalition, founded in 1973, which grew out of an informal network of clergy willing to help women gain access to safe abortions during the yeas before abortion was legal. The Minnesota Religious Coalition was established in 1989. With morality and religion dominating the current fierce debate about reproductive freedom, our goal is to create a strong pro-faith, pro-family movement by educating, organizing and mobilizing the silent, religious, pro-choice community to advocate for reproductive justice.
Three example of successes since 2009 include pro-choice clergy speaking at the Capital to House and Senate committees and at Pro-Choice Lobby Day, providing Our Whole Lives Holistic Sexuality Education Facilitator Trainings and organizing and leading interfaith/interdenominational services with 8 Jewish and Christian clergy at the Good Friday Planned Parenthood Pro-Choice Rally.
