Elizabeth Scott
How did you get involved with Headwaters?
I got involved three years ago, because I wanted to do some giving and heard about Headwaters through my professional and volunteer work. I was drawn to the donor advised fund opportunity to give over a series of years.
What social issues are most important to you and why?
I would say issues affecting queer communities, women and children, and health related issues such as disparities in access. I work in the health occupation and see how health disparities can translate to issues in communities of color because they are often concentrated there.
What is your personal vision of change?
I like to see measurable change not through a survey per se, but through personal accounts where it is trickling down so it is actually measurable in people's lives and you can see it in their lived experience. You know it is happening if children are healthy and if there is more affordable housing in your community.
