Social Change Fund
The Social Change Fund provides support for a wide range of change strategies and is committed to supporting the inclusiveadvancement of disenfranchised constituencies (low-income, people of color, women, LGBT, people with disabilities, immigrants, etc.). For over 25 years Headwaters has focused on supporting four interconnected yet distinct justice areas:
- Environmental Justice: Headwaters supports community activism that addresses the root cause of environmental concerns. Headwaters supports a group’s efforts to make changes to the social, economic and political systems that will result in improved health, increased inclusion in decision-making processes, and greater enforcement of environmental laws.
- Racial Justice: Headwaters supports organizationsthat empower people to challenge policies, institutions and attitudes that foster prejudice and perpetuate inequality.
- Economic Justice: Headwaters supports groups organizing to address the policies, practices and institutions that create, maintain and support systems of economic injustice.
- Social Justice: Headwaters supports groups as they address systemic inequities and demand a more equitable distribution of access, power, and opportunity.
