25th Anniversary Kicked Off!
It's time to celebrate!
Twenty-five years ago, a handful of visionary people looked around for a new way to address social justice. With their leadership and vision, Headwaters embarked on a courageous and life-changing journey. Today, we have grown to distribute nearly $1,000,000 each year to groups working for social change and have offered training to over 1,000 community leaders through our capacity building program.
Our work wouldn't be possible without our partners, grantees, and activists, so we threw a party at Nicollet Island Pavilion, May 20, 2009 to celebrate the work we've all accomplished together over the past twenty-five years of working for social change!
Headwaters partnered with Eureka Recycling to make it a Zero Waste event!
The event started with In the Heart of the Beast puppets, featured music by the Quilombolas, a spoken word performance by Ibe Kaba, a special Fund of the Sacred Circle presentation, and much more!
The silent auction items included artwork, gift certificates, lunch with labor professor Peter Rachleff, and roundtrip airfare for two on Southwest Airlines and services package for nonprofits!
