Robert Sykora
Robert Sykora is a Minnesota native who has a special interest in data policy issues, the criminal justice system, human rights concerns affecting gay and lesbian people, and development of mediation as an alternative to traditional forms of dispute resolution.
As Chief Information Officer for the Minnesota Board of Public Defense, Bob leads a team that designs electronic tools to bring the work of Public Defenders into the twenty-first century. Bob works to develop information policy that creates a fairer world for the least fortunate, in this way reducing future numbers of public defender clients.
Bob is frequent presenter on the topics of privacy in the Internet age, E-government policy development, data policy, and human rights issues affecting gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered people.
